Guest Post on SCL: The Ninja Nod-off

(Okay, so I've been away for awhile, but I bring good post...)

So, fast forward to the Sunday morning after Thanksgiving, and your belly is full of turkey awesomeness. Slumber is upon you, but you're about to head into church, what is your back-up plan in case you accidentally fall asleep during the sermon. I think I may have a plan for you…

Without further adieux, my guest post on my esteemed fellow Dave Ramsey team member Jon Acuff's popular blog (and book) "Stuff Christians Like", entitled "The Ninja Nod-Off":

Webcomic status, new short story, sketch cards...

Hi all. Wow. Been a long time, eh?....heheheheh....uh...yeeeeah...mmm...okay...

Okay, let me get right down to business. My upcoming webcomic is on temporary hiatus until I get a few personal things squared away. To the 2.5 people reading this and interested, don't worry I will get back on track with it, and it will be worth the wait. Promise.

However, I have still been creating- writing in fact. I created a short story which I am planning on lengthening a bit to fit a picture book format. Anyway, I entered the 'abridged' version into a great contest which the super folks at The Paper Wings Podcast put on. The voting began at the beginning of this past week (which is why I am posting this now? Way to go Captain OnTopOfThings!). You can still get your vote in by going here and 'liking' it using the Facebook icon on the left share bar.

In the meantime, I finished and sent off some sketch card commissions recently. Here, take a peek:

Left to Right: (Top) Gandalf's Escape from Saruman, Hiro Nakamura vs. Darth Vader, (Bottom) Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Maul, Boba Fett w/Han in CarboniteLeft to Right: (All from Buffy) Faith, Willow, and Spike

If you or anybody that you know is interested in a custom commission, you can contact me at:

noah (at) rightbraind (dot) com. That is all.

New Webcomic : Character Studies, pt3

So, with the little time that I currently have, amongst freelance web-based design work and the fact that my wife and I are expecting our sixth child any day now, I bring you the third installment of character studies of our hero for my new upcoming webcomic.

I compiled my fave action poses and ones with the most energy and character, feedback is always welcome!

CHARACTER TEASE: This guy is truly fearless and likes to punch evil in the face (or slice it in half). The bigger and the more tentacles, the better...BRING IT!

New Webcomic : Character Studies, pt2

So, here is the second installment of my character studies for my upcoming webcomic. Trying to keep it loose...I am really loving drawing with the "S" tip Faber-Castell Pitt pen.

Morning Warmups: My Son...

So, as often as possible, I do my morning drawing warm-ups, which is a challenge for a father of 5 (soon-to-be 6). Sometimes it's 30 second poses using PoseManiacs.com, and a lot of the time it's drawing my kids. This time around it's my 1.75 yo son. He's quite the character, I love drawing toddlers, such fun shapes to play with:
